Thanks for stopping by and learning more about this role at Sitemate! ✨🏗️
We’d love to hear from you 👩💻👩🏽💻🧑🏿💻👨🏻💻
Brief overview of this role:
The Product Owner is a hybrid ownership role responsible for product outcomes end-to-end - from early concept and UX exploration through to delivery, release, and production performance.
At Sitemate, Product Owners combine UX/UI design expertise with product ownership and delivery management. You’ll work in small, high-trust teams alongside engineers to define problems, design solutions, shape requirements, plan delivery, and take responsibility for what ships - including how it performs once live.
Design, product, and delivery are not separate disciplines here; they are one integrated role. We believe the future of product teams - especially in an AI-accelerated world - belongs to builders who can own all three.
Employment:
Full-time
Based: Sydney, Australia or Melbourne, Australia
Remuneration (Including Super): AUD $90,000 - $120,000 pending your experience
👥 Team Context
Join an existing team of 9 Product Design Managers
Each Product Owner supports approximately 2 teams, with generally 2 engineers
Currently we have opportunities open for a Product Owner in our Dashpivot (Web and Mobile), Dashpivot Platform and Growth teams.
Why Join Sitemate
At Sitemate, you’ll join a global team that values transparency, high velocity, hustle, diversity, and innovation.
We’re open about our metrics, honest about challenges, and obsessed with improving how the world’s most important industries operate. Our environment is flexible, fast-moving, and outcome-driven - designed to help you do the best work of your career.
You’ll be surrounded by people who take pride in their work, care deeply about results, and believe that great culture is built on trust, respect, and continuous learning.
How We Work
Transparency at every level: Monthly Allhands meetings share key company metrics, updates, and customer stories. We also spotlight a team member’s “Life Story” each month - it’s one of the ways we stay connected as a global team.
High velocity, low friction: Our systems are modern and fully integrated, so you’ll spend your time solving problems - not fighting tools.
Performance-driven growth: Seven of our last ten pay increases were made proactively, based on impact and results.
True flexibility: We focus on outcomes, not hours. You’ll have autonomy to manage your time and work where you perform best - with no time monitoring or unnecessary meetings.
Collaboration: You’ll work closely with other teams - engineering, product, design, marketing, and customer success - to move fast and deliver meaningful results.

⚡ Challenges
Breadth of ownership - This is not a pure design or pure product management role. You will move between design, product scoping, delivery coordination, and production support within the same day. If you're looking to specialise in a single discipline, this role won't be the right fit.
Pace - We move very quickly. You'll need to be excited to learn fast and ship frequently, not wait for perfect conditions.
Owning the outcome, not just the output - You're responsible for what gets built, not just the designs you hand over. If something ships with unclear UX, missed edge cases, or bugs that trace back to insufficient scoping, that's your problem to own and fix.
Support and triage are part of the job - Monitoring production, triaging issues raised by customer support, and ensuring quality post-release is core to this role, not a distraction from it.
Strong culture and operating standards - We have a strong culture based on core values and standard operating procedures. You may need to unlearn a few things from previous experience.
✅ Who This Role is For
Product minded people who enjoy owning product outcomes end-to-end
Designers who want deeper accountability and delivery ownership
Product thinkers who are comfortable moving between UX, scoping, and execution
Individuals energised by pace and shipping
🚫 Who This Role is Not For
People who only want to design and are not interested in delivery or product ownership
Designers who prefer handing off work rather than owning outcomes through to production
Individuals who want clearly separated roles without cross-functional accountability
