We are searching for someone who is able to take on the challenge of a maturing platform that is also innovating heavily in AI. Our company has grown significantly from its early lean startup stages, and the Platform squad’s current focus is on addressing significant technical debt in order to achieve company goals. The roadmap is a mixture of migration projects from older technologies such as Javascript, PHP and Flow, to a more modern and cohesive architecture using TypeScript with NextJS and NestJS, as well as Python in the AI space.

What you'll do

    • You'll work as an integral member of the Platform squad to achieve their roadmap goals
    • You'll closely collaborate with the squad lead in providing the solution design for Platform projects
    • You'll take responsibility for implementation work as part of Platform development projects and BAU work
    • You'll collaborative with our feature squads, helping them to achieve their team goals and platform needs
    • You'll have the opportunity to mentor other squad members and up-skill them in backend expertise
    • You are an advocate for the Platform mindset and quality engineering within your squad and across the broader organisation
    • You'll help to drive scalability, performance & security across the platform, ensuring best practices are observed
    • You'll utilise your expertise and experience with Platform concerns such as: system design & architecture, infrastructure & ops and development & automation

What you'll bring to Atomi

    • You'll leverage your previous experience working on large scale legacy migration projects
    • You’ve worked specifically with production federated GraphQL APIs
    • You’ve worked on ML/AI backend services using Python (this is a bonus)
    • You’re familiar with the AWS and or GCP ecosystems, as well as Kubernetes, and Amazon EKS
    • You'll be enthusiastic working in an evolving scale-up environment
    • You are an excellent communicator with all types of stakeholders across the business
    • You have a proven ability and interest in mentoring and up-skilling other engineers
    • You have a proven ability to work independently as needed and a part of a team
    • You work well with ambiguity and haphazard legacy systems
