The opportunity
As an engineering manager at Atomi you'll blend technical depth with people leadership by guiding a team of engineers to deliver quality at speed while helping shape how we build, ship and maintain our product.
In this role, you’ll partner closely with our Product and Design teams to make sure technical considerations shape direction and delivery. You’ll create an environment where engineers can own domains, make sound decisions and keep improving their craft.
This role is ideal if you’re ready to step beyond feature-level leadership and take on broader responsibility for team development, operational excellence and strategic alignment with the business.
At Atomi, we aim to move quickly and keep things transparent. Once you’re into the interview stage, we’ll make sure you get meaningful feedback and insights from the team. For this role, you can expect the process to look like this:
• Initial Screen w/ Atomi's People Team
• Interview Round 1: Culture and Motivations
• Interview Round 2: Technical Assessment - System Design
• Interview Round 3: Cross-Functional
What You'll Do
- Build, develop and retain a high-performing engineering team
- Co-own the team roadmap with Product and Design, balancing features, technical work and operational improvements
- Collaborate with other engineering managers and cross-functional stakeholders to solve cross-domain challenges
- Hire new team members, run regular 1:1s supporting the team with clear, growth-focused feedback that encourages engineers to make informed decisions with confidence
- Work with senior engineers to guide technical direction and identify architectural risks while using data to track operational patterns, support accurate estimation and improve delivery practices
- Keep the customer front and centre when making technical decisions
What You'll Bring to Atomi
- Experience building and developing engineering teams, with a people-first approach to coaching, feedback and career growth
- A strong technical foundation that helps you guide architectural decisions and support engineers in making thoughtful trade-offs
- Ability to use data to inform decisions on capacity, velocity and operational patterns while keeping delivery predictable
- Clear, empathetic communication that adapts to different audiences and builds trust across engineering, product and design
- Skill in navigating disagreements and creating alignment, even when priorities compete or constraints shift
- A commitment to inclusive, high-performing team culture where psychological safety, continuous learning and diverse perspectives thrive
