About Us 🚀

Bridgit is a leading non-bank lender transforming the way Australians access property equity. Purpose built to make property transactions faster and easier, we pioneered the Buy Now, Sell Later solution – empowering homeowners to unlock their property equity and move on their terms. With a simple digital application, fast approvals, and flexible loan options, we’re making property finance seamless and stress-free.

We’re now five years old and making huge strides. We have accredited over three-quarters of Australia’s broker network, and launched white label solutions with Australia’s largest aggregators – Connective, Aussie Home Loans, Finsure, and Loan Market Group – and we’re just getting started.

Our momentum has been recognised with awards such as Best Growth Story at the 2025 Fintech Awards
, 2025 Finder People’s Choice Award for Lending Innovation, the finalist for Excellence in Lending (Business & Consumer) at the 2025 Finnies, Deloitte's tech fast 50 2025 and finally; being recognised as one of LinkedIn’s top 20 Start Up’s in Australia 2025.

The difference you’ll make

We’re looking for a talented and driven AI expert to help shape the foundation that powers our products and company wide experience. You’ll be a practical AI engineering lead who contributes code, diagnoses production issues and drives end-to-end implementation across data and model workflows.

Based in Sydney (hybrid), this is an opportunity to work at the intersection of software engineering and the future of our internal AI roadmap, influencing how technical development happens across the company and driving future focused operational excellence in everything we build.

What you'll do;

  • Create and champion reusable architectural patterns and components that speed secure, repeatable AI rollouts in mixed legacy and cloud environments.

  • Advise on applied GenAI approaches, retrieval-augmented pipelines, vector search, embeddings and copilot-style integrations with a focus on feasibility and risk.

  • Convert technical trade-offs into concise guidance for senior stakeholders and take responsibility for architectural choices through to delivery.

  • Partner with product owners and business groups to ensure solutions are responsible, usable and deliver clear operational benefits.

  • Steer initiatives through governance checkpoints so work progresses from prototype to production while meeting lifecycle, security and regulatory needs.

  • Work with business teams to phase delivery into pragmatic, high-value increments that mitigate risk and unlock longer-term change.

What you’ll bring:

  • At least ten years' experience in software or data engineering, including three or more years delivering AI/ML outcomes in enterprise settings.

  • A proven ability to produce results within legacy-limited and resource-limited environments while remaining pragmatic about scope.

  • Strong hands-on capability in contemporary agentic AI frameworks, paired with experience in cloud-native designs.

  • Practical expertise across data platforms such as data lakes, APIs and integration approaches, plus productionising models with monitoring, security and retraining workflows.

  • A solid understanding of Responsible AI principles, privacy-by-design and compliance considerations relevant to public-sector contexts.

  • Experience mentoring engineers and lifting capability by embedding DevSecOps/MLOps practices, automated testing and operational monitoring.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder skills with a history of building cross-functional ways of working.
