As a Cloud Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, optimising, and maintaining our cloud and on-premises systems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance. This is an intermediate-level role that requires 3+ years of experience in a relevant field.

Only candidates located in Melbourne will be considered for this role. Candidates must be available on site in our office in Prahran, as needed.
What you’ll be doing in the role:
- Design, implement, optimise and manage cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure
- Use Infrastructure-as-code where possible to automate, simplify and speed up delivery of changes and improvements
- Improve system reliability, security, and performance across cloud and on-prem environments
- Support and troubleshoot cloud services, applications, and infrastructure.
- Automate deployments, monitoring, and maintenance tasks
- Collaborate with our Web & Game Services teams on new projects
- Provide support to our Engineers in the Web & Game Services team on Cloud best practises, including security design
- Support the Web Services teams’ application architecture by adding Cloud & Infrastructure insight and reviews

Your skills and experience (what we think you need to be successful)
What you’ll bring:
- 3+ years experience with scripting/programming languages such as Bash, Python, JSON, YAML etc
- 3+ years experience with AWS Well Architected Framework, and AWS technologies
- 3+ years experience with Infrastructure as Code (eg Terraform, Cloudformation, Bicep)
- Expert level knowledge in AWS networking services and concepts
- Expert level knowledge in containers including Docker/ECS
- Experience with CI/CD/build automation tools
- Familiarity with security best practises, and security/compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 & NIST, SOC-2
- Knowledge of ITIL methodologies
It would be awesome if you also have:
- Experience with Azure
- AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
- Experience with ClickUp or similar project management tools
- Experience with PagerDuty or similar alerting/reporting tools
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform & Google Suite
- A passion for video games and an understanding of the games industry
