Neara is a high-growth, venture-backed Series C tech company headquartered in Sydney, Australia. Recognised as one of the Times 100 Most Influential Companies of 2024, our vision is to change how the world operates, builds and designs critical infrastructure. We work with 75% of the utilities in Australia and New Zealand and are rapidly expanding across the US and Europe. Our mission is to revolutionise the utilities industry with our 3d digital network model, enabling utilities to future-proof their infrastructure and navigate the clean energy transition.

We're excited to hire our first Chief of Staff in Sydney, Australia. This is a high-impact, high-intensity role at a critical inflection point in our journey. Neara is a rapidly scaling Series C company, operating at the intersection of deep engineering, cutting-edge R&D, complex enterprise sales, and large-scale infrastructure transformation. We are tackling some of the most pressing global challenges - grid resiliency, renewable energy integration, and critical infrastructure optimisation - and need a strategic, execution-focused, and data-driven Chief of Staff to run initiatives, optimise decision-making and ensure the CEO and leadership team operate at peak effectiveness.

This is a unique opportunity for a driven individual to gain firsthand experience in scaling a business, working across multiple regions and functional areas, with a fast track to senior operating roles.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

  • Act as a force multiplier for the CEO and Executive team, driving the execution of high-impact strategic initiatives.

  • Own cross-functional communication and operational rigour across R&D, engineering, sales, and global operations.

  • Engineer (and drive execution of) key metrics and data initiatives, ensuring the right insights inform strategy and execution.

  • Optimise decision-making through the above key responsibilities and in general via supporting and collaborating with the global leadership team.

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Highly strategic, execution-oriented, and analytical, able to zoom in and out effortlessly.

  • Not content merely to analyse metrics but motivated to ensure the right ones are defined, measured, and actionable.

  • Exceptional communicator who enjoys building productive relationships across teams. You care about fostering great company culture.

  • Comfortable taking full ownership and operating with urgency.

  • Takes pride in precision and attention to detail.

  • Enjoys gnarly real-world problems involving infrastructure, renewables, and large-scale systems.

  • Experience in consulting, operations, finance, or high-growth startups preferred.

  • Hungry for rapid learning, impact, and growth into senior leadership.

This role is for someone who thrives in complexity, enjoys bridging technical and business worlds, and wants to drive impact at a company solving real-world infrastructure challenges.

WHAT WE ARE OFFERING YOU:

  • Competitive salary

  • Meaningful ESOP

  • Flexible working arrangements with a fully stocked office in Redfern.

  • Regular office events

  • The real benefit is working on a genuinely complex, innovative, and industry-leading product, making a genuine difference in the world around us.
