We’d love to hear from you 👩💻👩🏽💻🧑🏿💻👨🏻💻
📝 Overview
We are looking for a BizOps Manager to join our growing Operations team at Sitemate. This is a cross-functional role - you'll embed within teams and departments, build the systems and reporting infrastructure that keep them running, and execute strategic projects from start to finish.
Reporting to our Senior BizOps Manager, you’ll start embedded in our Product, Design & Engineering (PDE) team, working closely with our CTO and PDE leadership to analyse data, surface insights, and translate them into action. You’ll plan and execute operational projects that reduce the team’s load and help them move faster. Over time, your focus may shift as the business evolves. As the sole Operations team member based in Melbourne, you'll also own the day-to-day running of our Melbourne office, keeping it a great place for the team to work.
At Sitemate, BizOps isn't a support function; it's how we build operational leverage across the business. This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role. You'll be expected to dive into complex, ambiguous situations, get context fast, and turn messy inputs into clear outputs and working systems. You’ll need to build trust quickly in new environments and across functions. This role would be a great fit if you thrive on variety and ownership, and you're energised by the idea of going deep on a hard problem, solving it, and moving to the next one.

Our team blends deep industry experience with cutting-edge product design to build tools that modernise one of the world’s largest and most essential industries.

🔧 Day-to-Day
Design and own operational systems and processes to support teams as they scale; embedded initially in Product, Design & Engineering (PDE) you’ll be coordinating KPIs, SLAs, and other key metrics, driving the rollout and adoption of tooling, and leveraging AI and automation to streamline processes
Reduce operational and administrative load on senior leaders by absorbing admin, coordination, tooling, and reporting work
Prepare reporting deliverables that feed into broader business reporting (board, monthly all-hands, etc.)
Manage cross-functional operational and special projects, initially within PDE and potentially across other functions of the business as priorities evolve
Act as a thought partner to leadership on priorities, trade-offs, and execution
Own Melbourne office operations, supported by the broader Ops team
⚡ Challenges
Operating in ambiguity - working without clear upfront definitions, pulling together multiple sources of data, managing competing priorities, and turning these into clear, actionable steps
Building credibility quickly with cross-functional teams in new environments, without necessarily having specialised functional expertise
Creating systems that scale across many teams with different workflows, balancing consistency with team autonomy
Being comfortable with your scope evolving as business priorities shift
✅ Who This Role is For
Enjoys working at the intersection of people, systems, and technology
Energised by variety and can switch gears quickly - happy to go deep on one team or project, then move to the next priority
Cares deeply about execution quality - thinks not just in frameworks, but workflows and outcomes
Curious about how technical teams work, even without a technical background - can work credibly with engineers, product managers, and senior leaders
Excited by AI as a real productivity tool, not just a concept
Comfortable with ambiguity - can build trust quickly in new environments and hit the ground running without a detailed brief
🚫 Who This Role is Not For
Looking for a narrowly defined, specialist role with a fixed scope; or a purely strategic or advisory role with no hands-on execution
Those who struggle with ambiguity or need heavy day-to-day management — you'll have support, but you'll still need to be comfortable driving your own work
People who prefer highly structured or repetitive work over building iterative, evolving systems
🎯 Skills & Tools
Must Have:
Strong operational and systems thinking, backed by hands-on experience - you don't just design processes, you build and own them end-to-end
Ability to turn messy inputs (feedback, data, requests) into clear outputs
Clear, structured communication (written and verbal)
Experience managing cross-functional projects end-to-end
Strong stakeholder management, with experience working closely with technical teams
Nice to Have:
Experience supporting or working closely with senior leadership (C-Suite, VP or Director level)
Experience in a scaling SaaS environment
Essential Tools:
Spreadsheets - must be comfortable working with data
AI tools - Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.
Google Workspace
Slack
Bonus Tools:
Jira/Confluence
Zapier and other integration tooling
