About the Role

Syenta is looking for a Data Engineer to design, build, and own the end-to-end data architecture supporting laboratory and technical operations. This role will establish scalable data pipelines, develop analytical dashboards to track process performance and generate insights, and implement and manage a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) that integrates tool and materials data.

Shape and implement Syenta’s AI strategy.

The ideal candidate will work closely with laboratory, operations, and other technical teams to translate lab workflows into reliable, actionable data systems.

Day to Day


  • Design, implement, and maintain a scalable data architecture to collect, store, and manage technical data from multiple sources including automation of physical devices (i.e. laboratory metrology tools)
  • Define governance and standards to ensure data integrity, traceability, and consistency across technical datasets
  • Ensure appropriate data governance, access controls, and auditability for lab and operational data
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports (i.e. Power BI or similar tools) for: Yield and performance monitoring, Tool utilization and capacity tracking, Tool uptime and reliability metrics, Laboratory performance
  • Partner with key stakeholders to allow for system to track KPIs, metrics, and visualizations that drive decision-making
  • Lead the design and implementation of LIMS to enable data management and traceability linking of systems, tools, and materials
About You


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Data Engineering/Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years data management experience
  • Experience designing and managing data architectures and data pipelines in a laboratory or manufacturing environment
  • Preference with experience in data management for mechatronics systems
  • Strong database skills and experience
  • Experience building dashboards in Power BI or similar intelligence tools
  • Experience with Python and data analysis packages EG, Pandas, SKLearn, etc.
