About Syenta
Syenta is pioneering a new era in semiconductor manufacturing with our groundbreaking Localised Electrochemical Manufacturing (LEM) technology. Our platform enables advanced packaging by combining patterning and metallisation into a single tool. We achieve high-speed, high-resolution metallisation at lower costs and energy use, while minimising emissions and waste.
Founded in Australia, we are building a world-class team of engineers and scientists tackling some of the toughest challenges in semiconductor manufacturing. Our collaborative, people-first culture empowers individuals to take ownership, innovate, and deliver breakthrough results.
About the Role
We are looking for a Supplier & Sourcing Manager to lead supplier sourcing, commercial negotiations and supplier relationships across Syenta's growing supply base. This is a high-ownership, commercially creative role — you'll identify suppliers, develop sourcing strategies, and negotiate arrangements that give Syenta the flexibility, cost base and supply security to execute its roadmap. We're not looking for someone who simply compares quotes and negotiates unit price; you'll structure deals using volume, timing, forecasts, payment terms, capacity commitments and longer-term relationships to create better outcomes for both sides.
A major part of the role is working ahead of demand — engaging suppliers early so we have time to explore alternatives and structure the right commercial arrangement before requirements become urgent.
Responsibilities
Commercial Negotiation & Deal Structuring
- Lead commercial negotiations across materials, components, tooling, equipment and manufacturing services, covering price, payment terms, lead times, MOQs, capacity, warranties and freight
- Develop creative commercial structures — volume-based pricing, staged commitments, framework agreements and capacity reservations — that deliver value beyond unit price
- Use competitive sourcing, should-cost models and market benchmarking to challenge pricing and identify savings
- Balance Syenta's need for flexibility with suppliers' need for certainty, optimising the total commercial outcome rather than just purchase price
Proactive Sourcing & Supply Risk Management
- Work ahead of engineering and manufacturing requirements to identify long-lead, capacity-constrained or single-source needs early
- Build a pipeline of qualified suppliers and engage them before requirements become urgent
- Develop dual-source and alternative-supplier strategies to reduce future cost and schedule risk
Supplier Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with strategically important suppliers and set clear performance expectations on cost, quality, delivery and responsiveness
- Lead supplier escalations and commercial discussions when commitments fall short, balancing trust with commercial discipline
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Engineering and Process Engineering teams to align on technical requirements and commercial alternatives
- Maintain clear records of supplier commitments and sourcing decisions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Commerce or a related discipline
- 5+ years' experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain or supplier management, with a strong track record negotiating pricing, payment terms, lead times, MOQs, capacity and commercial agreements
- Experience sourcing technically complex or specialised products and services; semiconductor and advanced packaging experience is a strong plus
- Strong commercial and analytical capability, including experience developing alternative suppliers and managing supply risk
- Confidence negotiating with senior supplier representatives, backed by strong relationship-building skills and commercial discipline
- Ability to operate independently and make decisions in a fast-moving environment
- Experience in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, precision engineering, electronics, capital equipment, chemicals or tooling supply chains is highly regarded; startup or scale-up experience is advantageous
Why Choose Syenta?
We're passionate about building a diverse, people-first company. Our culture of collaboration and mutual respect fuels innovation capable of redefining an industry. At Syenta, you'll have the opportunity to take ownership, lead high-impact teams, and shape the future of semiconductor manufacturing.
